Beginner Tips for Rerolling
Best starter champions and how to build your first competitive team from your opening roll.
What is rerolling?
When you start BattleRise, your account receives a random starter champion from the reroll pool — one of five champions: Etherstone Golem, Ursan, Fara, Vaila, or Spirit of Nature.
If you don't like your roll, you can reroll to generate a new random champion before you commit to the account. This is your best chance to start with a high-impact unit before you've invested resources elsewhere.
Rerolling only affects this one starter pick — it does not reroll your entire roster. Once you accept a champion and progress, treat that choice as your anchor for early story, Arena, and your first artifact sets.
When should you stop rerolling?
Stop immediately if you roll Etherstone Golem — the strongest pick in the reroll pool and the best possible outcome.
Consider stopping if you roll Ursan or Vaila — both are reliable starters who stabilize early content with tanky or support-oriented kits.
Keep rerolling if you roll Fara or Spirit of Nature and want a more durable opener first — both are strong damage dealers, but they won't carry early content alone without a frontline or healer from summons and story.
The reroll pool — every possible outcome
Only these five champions can appear on your opening roll. Champions like Invictus, Siegward, Bonelord, and Zephyr are not in this pool — you unlock those later through story, shards, and summons.
- Etherstone Golem — STR support; strong with invisibility comps — best reroll
- Ursan — versatile STR tank; assists on heals
- Fara — AGI debuffer and wave clear
- Vaila — AGI support with utility for early teams
- Spirit of Nature — AGI burst damage through rapid attacks
Building your first team around your roll
Every roster needs four roles filled as you unlock champions from summons and story:
- Frontline — absorbs damage (Ursan or Etherstone Golem from your roll)
- Main damage — clears waves (Fara or Spirit of Nature if you rolled them; otherwise your next summon)
- Support — keeps the team stable (Vaila if you rolled her; otherwise priority summon)
- Control or secondary DPS — debuffs or burst from later champions you unlock
Your reroll champion should define which gap you don't need to fill first. Rolled Ursan or Etherstone Golem? Prioritize damage and support from story rewards and shards. Rolled Vaila? Grab a tank and DPS next. Rolled Fara or Spirit of Nature? Rush survivability before pushing hard content.
Quick tips for each reroll champion
Etherstone Golem (STR)
The top reroll target. The Golem benefits from Invisibility and acts as flexible support — not a pure damage carry. Build tanky, protect him, and add AGI or INT damage dealers behind him. If you roll this, stop rerolling immediately.
Ursan (STR)
A common reroll result and a strong one. Ursan is a versatile tank that triggers assists when anyone heals. Pair him with any healer or support, stack HP% and DEF% on STR artifacts, and he stabilizes your early Arena defense while you farm gear.
Fara (AGI)
Strong debuff-focused damage for early waves. Excellent once you have a frontline — rush Ursan, Etherstone Golem, or a healer from summons before pushing hard content.
Vaila (AGI)
A solid support pick from the reroll pool. Vaila helps early teams stay online while you farm artifacts and unlock more damage dealers. Good stop point if you want utility over raw DPS.
Spirit of Nature (AGI)
Fast Ethereal attacker that shines when you can keep them alive. Pair with a tank or support from summons; invest Speed and damage artifacts once your core is stable.
Early game checklist
- Accept your reroll once you hit Etherstone Golem or a champion that fits the role you need
- Level your starter to max before spreading resources thin across six units
- Farm basic artifact sets from early dungeons — Speed and HP% matter more than perfect sets
- Don't chase champion duplicates until your core four are geared
- Save premium summon currency for rate-up banners once you know your team's weak points
Summary
Rerolling is about landing a champion who can anchor your first competitive team — ideally Etherstone Golem, or a reliable pick like Ursan or Vaila. The pool is only five champions: Golem, Ursan, Fara, Vaila, and Spirit of Nature. Stop when you get a keeper, build four roles around them, and invest gear before you chase more summons.
